Denise’s Story -
Feeding the Hungry One Chicken Casserole at a Time
We all try to live up to the challenge of the Bible verse "For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me…" With young children at home, the challenge for Denise was to find something that she could do to help the homeless. Most of the volunteer opportunities just weren't an option, but she could cook and chicken casseroles were needed to feed our guests at the overnight PADS site. So that is exactly what Denise has been doing for over four years now – making a chicken casserole each month to feed our guests. When asked why, Denise says it is one of the easiest ways she knows to help and one of the most direct. She is cooking for those in need. With the many blessings shared by our parishioners she feels it is important for us to reach out to those in need. So each month, she bakes a chicken casserole and drops it off at the church to be taken to the PADS site for dinner. Denise is feeding the hungry one chicken casserole at a time.
Thanks Denise.
