Our Ministry

Share the Spirit is the parish’s Christmas gift collection for those in need in DuPage County. Share the Spirit is a Christmas holiday program coordinated by the People's Resource Center that St. Daniel the Prophet supports. Our parish along with other groups collects gifts and gift certificates that are distributed by the People's Resource Center to those in need. Clients pre-register, then "go shopping" at the County Fairgrounds in a store-like setting. Click here to view 2009 collection numbers.

Volunteer Opportunities

• Assist ministry coordinators, two needed.

• Help set up the "store" and to escort Clients as they "shop".

Volunteer Meetings

There are no specific meetings for this ministry, but volunteers are welcome to attend the monthly CORE meetings for ministry coordinators, ministry volunteers, and interested parishioners on the first Monday evening of each month.  See CORE Meetings.

Volunteer Statement

"We work on this because we believe this outreach program helps protect the dignity of those that receive assistance. The donations of gifts and gift certificates go to those most in need and do so in an organized thoughtful way. Also, we routinely hear from parishioners that they appreciate us being the connection to those in need, making it very easy for all to donate.
