Overview of Ministries

Christian Out Reach Effort, CORE, of St. Daniel the Prophet Parish currently has 11 separate ministries and provides support to 8 community organizations from its funds. These ministries reach out to those in need in our community through parish service projects, programs in partnership with community organizations, and advocacy/educational opportunities to the parish. They provide parishioners with opportunities to volunteer on a regular or periodic basis. The ministries are:

• Bucket Sunday – Cleaning supply collection
• Clothing Drive, St. Vincent de Paul
• Emergency Food – Ongoing food collection for local food pantries
• Hearts Against Hunger – Food drive
• Mothers' Day Shower – Collection of newborn baby items
• Peace and Social Justice/Right to Life – Education and advocacy
• Plan for Independence – Mentor for transitional housing program for women
• Public Action To Deliver Shelter (PADS) – Overnight homeless shelter
• Share the Spirit – Christmas Collection
• St. Joseph the Worker – Support for the unemployed
• Transitional Housing – Temporary housing and support for homeless families

• Churches United for Hardship Assistance – Organization of local churches including St. Daniel to provide emergency assistance to those in need in our community
• DuPage PADS – Overnight Shelter program partner
• Interfaith Food Pantry
• Loretto House Transitional Housing
• Outreach Community Ministries
• People's Resource Center - Food Pantry / Share the Spirit Partner
• St. Joseph the Worker Employment Ministry
• Women's Choice Services – Provide life choices for women in need
